Power Platform Consultant for Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI

Kapala Tech is a digital transformation consultancy and Microsoft Solutions Partner serving Brazil, the United States and Canada. As a Power Platform consultant, Kapala builds business apps with Power Apps, automates workflows with Power Automate, delivers reporting with Power BI and creates AI agents with Copilot Studio, with environment strategy, data loss prevention policies and governance designed in from the start rather than added after problems appear.

What does a Power Platform consultant do?

A Power Platform consultant designs, builds and governs low-code solutions on Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Copilot Studio. The job is less about dragging components onto a canvas and more about choosing the right tool, modeling the data correctly and setting up the environments and policies that keep solutions secure as they multiply.

Kapala Tech combines that platform work with 30+ years of software and integration experience, so solutions can grow beyond low-code when the business needs it.

Which Power Platform tool fits which problem?

Each Power Platform product solves a different kind of problem, and most real solutions combine two or more. The table below is how we explain the choice to business teams.

Power Platform products and typical uses
ProductUse it toTypical examples
Power AppsBuild business apps for web and mobile on top of your dataField inspections, request and approval portals, replacing spreadsheet-based processes
Power AutomateAutomate workflows across cloud services and, with desktop flows, legacy desktop appsApprovals, notifications, document routing, moving data between systems
Power BIModel data and publish interactive reports and dashboardsSales and finance dashboards, operational KPIs, executive reporting
Copilot StudioBuild AI agents that answer questions and take actionsInternal help desk agents, HR and policy assistants, agents that trigger Power Automate flows

How do you keep Power Platform governed as citizen developers build?

Governance starts with environment strategy and data loss prevention (DLP) policies, before the number of apps and flows grows. Without them, makers can connect business data to personal services, and nobody knows which solutions are critical or who owns them.

  • Environment strategy: separate development, test and production, and dedicated environments for critical solutions
  • DLP policies that classify connectors as business, non-business or blocked
  • Solutions and application lifecycle management, so changes move from development to production in a controlled way
  • Inventory and ownership of apps, flows and agents, using Microsoft tooling such as the CoE Starter Kit where it fits
  • Governance for Copilot Studio agents: who can build, publish and share them, and which data and connectors they can use

When should you choose Power Apps over custom development?

Choose Power Apps when the solution is mostly forms, lists, approvals and data that already lives in Microsoft 365, Dataverse or a supported connector, and when speed of delivery matters more than full control over the user interface. Choose custom development, for example React with .NET or Node.js, when you need high scale, complex user experiences, external customers at large volume or logic that would be awkward in low-code.

Kapala Tech does both, so the recommendation is not biased toward a single tool. A common pattern is Power Apps for internal users and an API built in .NET or Node.js behind it for complex logic.

Do you provide Power BI consulting on its own?

Yes. Kapala Tech delivers Power BI projects on their own or as part of a broader data platform. Work typically covers data modeling, DAX measures, report design, row-level security, and refresh and publishing through the Power BI service. When reports need a stronger data foundation, Power BI can sit on Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake.

Frequently asked questions

Is Kapala Tech a Microsoft partner?

Yes. Kapala Tech is a Microsoft Solutions Partner and delivers Power Platform, Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness, Microsoft Fabric and Azure integration work for companies in Brazil, the United States and Canada.

Can Power Automate replace RPA tools such as UiPath?

Sometimes. Power Automate cloud flows plus Power Automate Desktop cover many automation needs, especially in Microsoft-centric companies. For large, complex robot fleets, platforms like UiPath, Automation Anywhere or Blue Prism may fit better.

Can Power Apps connect to Salesforce, SAP or other systems?

Yes. Power Platform has connectors for many systems, including Salesforce and SAP, and custom connectors can call any REST API. Kapala Tech also builds integrations with Azure Integration Services when connectors are not enough.

What is Copilot Studio used for?

Copilot Studio is Microsoft’s tool for building AI agents that answer questions from your content and take actions through connectors and Power Automate flows, for example an internal IT or HR help agent.

Can you fix or govern Power Platform solutions that already exist?

Yes. Kapala Tech can inventory existing apps, flows and agents, review environments and DLP policies, and propose a plan to secure, consolidate and document what is already in use.
